Good morning! Bon appetit!
Unfortunately, that trail was washed out and in trying to traverse part of it Lucas hit his head on an out-cropping of rock. It was decided to turn back and we took the high trail loop back to the parking lot. We didn't see a single soul on that upper trail despite the lower trail being completely full of tourists.
We had our breath stolen again at the Campbell Crossing into BC when we saw Mount Robson.
Passing by Mount Robson
Taken in our rearview mirror, which was the only way I got to see this beauty as the driver. Tip for future visitors, plan to make a pit stop here to be able to fully enjoy this sight! The road to Kamloops took us through some gorgeous canyons and up and down some fairly twisty roads. In Kamloops we checked into a Motel. I checked in with my local contact, who, as bad luck would have it, was currently out on Vancouver island. We were able to get some recommendations and we left for dinner at the Red Beard Cafe where Michael and David had some fancy house lemonade. Afterwards we joined a music in the park festival at the riverside park.
This was the first of three stops with two queen beds and five Taylor bodies. David opted to sleep on the floor in a nest of sleeping bags rather than share a bed with Lucas and Michael. Looking around the room and at the beds, that might have been the safest option.
